Looking through the hole in the wall, a mouse saw the farmer and his wife unwrapping a package.
– What is there? asked the mouse. He was horrified to see that the package contained a mousetrap.
Returning to the farm, the mouse told everyone what he had seen.
– It’s a mouse trap in the house! It’s a mouse trap in the house!
The hen clucked, raised her head, and said:
– Mr. Mouse, that’s all I can tell you. I understand that this is a serious matter for you, but it is of no consequence to me. I can’t be bothered with this information.
Then the mouse went to the pig and said, “There is a mouse trap in the house!”
The pig was impressed, but replied: “- I’m sorry Mr. Mouse, I can’t do anything, I can only pray for you. You can be sure that you are in my prayers going forward”
The mouse then went to the cow and took them too: “There is a trap for mice in the house!”
The cow replied:
– Wow Mr. Mouse, I’m sorry for you, but as far as I’m concerned this trap can’t hurt me in any way.
Finally, the mouse returned to the house very disappointed and decided to face the trap alone. That night there was a sound that something had been caught in the trap.
The farmer’s wife hurried to see what it was, but because of the darkness she did not see that in the trap was the tail of a large poisonous snake. He bit her!
The farmer rushed his wife to the hospital, then brought her home with a high fever.
Everyone knows that a good cure for fever is chicken soup, so the farmer went and slaughtered a chicken. However, his wife’s condition was worsening.
Friends and neighbors had come to stay with her, and in order to feed her, the farmer also slaughtered the pig.
The farmer’s wife did not recover and eventually died.
So many people came to the funeral that the farmer also slaughtered the cow to feed them all.
The mouse was now looking through the hole in the wall, very sadly…
Moral:
We are all on a journey called life. When you hear that someone has a problem and you don’t think they care about you, remember that if one of us is threatened, we are all at risk.
